Local Films Selected for the 2016 Festival

The 10th annual Yellowknife International Film Festival is excited to announce several films of local and regional interest, by high-profile Northern filmmakers. During the Festival (September 26 to October 2, 2016), audiences will be able to enjoy films from around Canada’s North, reflecting the multitude of perspectives at home in the Territories.

· Koneline (Nettie Wild, Alaska/Yukon) 

· The Sun At Midnight (Kirsten Carthew & Amos Scott, NWT) 

· Painted Girl (Jen Walden, NWT) 

· I Had A Bad Back Then I Got Hit By A Cab (Graham Shishkov, NWT) 

· Con Kids (Terry Woolf, Gary Milligan, Pat Braden, NWT) 

· Gotsokati (Mason Mantla & CART, Behchoko) 

· Princess Jack (Lesley Johnson, NWT/Ontario) 

· SHIFT (Kelley Milner, Yukon)  

The Yellowknife International Film Festival takes place every fall, and features a variety of local and international films of all genres and for all audiences. The 2016 Festival will include free and paid screenings for the community, as well as Q&A sessions with select filmmakers, public events, and a professional workshop series.
